Introduction to the Music Video Project

     For this new project I decided that I want to work alone. I honestly feel like I work better alone because I get to do what I want and brainstorm instead of constantly changing things because of other people's ideas. In addition, I've also always worked better alone because when I work with others I tend to get distracted. This then leads to having a project with poor content and the results would not reach my desired standards that I want for the project itself. Working alone also allows me to not have to rely on my partners' work and having to constantly worry when it comes to travelling a certain distance, time, etc. For the music choice, I decided to pick the song 'In Your Eyes' by The Weeknd. I chose this song because I am a fan of his music and because it has an upbeat tempo to it. The song is not necessarily sad nor "super happy". Yes it is upbeat and it is a very fun, catchy song but it doesn't necessarily have a sad or happy story behind it. The beat of the song is very party-like or something that you would most likely hear in club. But at the same time it also has this type of jazz touch to it with the saxophone being very present throughout most of the song. The meaning behind this song is about how his partner comes off "emotionless" and pretends as if she doesn't actually have feelings for Abel (The Weeknd). However, in the song he sings "In Your Eyes" meaning that he knows that his love interest is only acting to make it seem as if she doesn't love him when she actually does. Even though the meaning of the song is more personal, or deep it is a song that you can decide how to perceive it or emotionally relate to it in any type of way.  I think that using this song for my project allows me to come up with different ideas when it comes to the setting, theme, the different costumes I want to include in my shots. I also think that this video would be really fun and somewhat easier than the last project because I have a longer period of time to film my music video. In this time I also get to think of different ideas of what I want and how I should do things. I also believe that it would be easier because I'm not necessarily endorsing anything like the last project, but I get to be imaginative, I get to have fun and enjoy the process.
