Nike commercial Editing Blog

Throughout the process of editing my Nike commercial I had a lot of fun. Although I got frustrated multiple times because I'm not the greatest with technology I eventually figured it out and was happy with my result. After I finished filming I favorited each clip that I thought that would look the best for my commercial on my phone, uploaded them to my google drive then uploaded them to Clipchamp. I kept overthinking and didn't know where I should put some of the clips but then I just kind of made a pattern of some of the clips with my two outfits and my jump roping clips. After I added each clip in the right spots I added the VHS filter to make it look even more vintage. I also added fade-ins to about three clips and cut some of the clips short to match the background music and for the required duration of the commercial. Then to make my commercial come more into view of my original ideas, I viewed the text features and movements that they had on Clipchamp. I found the glitch feature and chose that one because I believed it fit best with commercial. I then typed Just do it in white and changed the speed, size and amount of the glitch settings to the text. I copied and pasted this over many clips throughout the video and just changed the position of text so it can look "cooler" or eye catching. For my background music I had initially wanted a solo drum part of a song by SZA because it is one of my favorite songs by her and I really enjoy that specific part of the song. I honestly did not know how the music/sound part worked on Clipchamp so I searched for the song there but nothing showed up. So I got rid of the idea of having that song as my background music and tried to look for other sounds like beats, drum solos, chill music, etc. but I didn't like anything. At this point I didn't know what else to do so I called my friend to see what she did and she said that I was able to add a screen recording of the audio below my actual film so that you are still able to hear it but not see it. I then decided to chose a part of a stream of hip-hop beats by Lofi which is two music producers/DJ's who make these beats for relaxation and meditation without vocals. After I found the exact beat that I wanted, I screen recorded it from YouTube, added it to my camera roll, and edited the appearance of the recording so that it was now black. Then I uploaded it to my Google drive, uploaded it on Clipchamp, and placed the audio under my film. After I figured out how to add the music all I had left to add into my commercial was the Nike logo. I found the simple logo and slogan with a black background and applied it to my film then added a fade-in to it so it would flow at the end of the video. The last thing I did was just cut the music recording short so that it matched the 30-second duration of the commercial.

This is the Lofi beat stream where I got my background music from
