Our Pitch

    For this project my team and I came up with two mystery pitches. For our first pitch we came up with: A groom sets out to track down a bounty hunter after his bride is killed at the alter. For our second pitch we came up with: Three siblings come home from school to find their beloved foster mother missing. We all wanted to do something mysterious and suspenseful so that we were able to create more of a cliff-hanger by the end of the first scene. Esther had introduced the first pitch while I had introduced the second. All three of us went from there and really enjoyed both ideas because we though it would be fun and cool. However, when it came to the first pitch we were worried about the costumes and the location because it is based on a wedding day. In addition, the expenses would have been a little bit more costly and we would have to include a lot more people in the scene because it is a wedding. We are also currently in a pandemic-Covid-19-so we would have to be a lot more cautious when being around others. The other pitch however, would be a lot more easier for all three of us, because we would mainly stay in one location and because we wouldn't have to worry too much about costumes nor accessories and props. We wanted the scene to have an element of mystery to enable the viewers to really come up with their own scenarios and ideas. Having the scene be based on mystery also allowed us to come up with an interesting idea easier and create that cliff-hanger/suspense feel to it. In the end we chose the second pitch " Three siblings come home from school to find their beloved foster mother missing", because it was most convenient to all three of us. This if for the reason being that the other pitch would have a lot more elements involved such as an outdoor setting and more props. Compared to the first pitch, the second pitch would have a more controlled and enclosed setting and we are able to work more with each other rather than involve more people when we are in the middle of a pandemic. Because this pitch is about three siblings we are all going to be very involved in this project and represent the characters very well. Ultimately, we chose this pitch because there was a lot more benefits to it and because we thought it would be very fun to use our creativity and imagination.
