Filming and Editing Blog for my Music Video
Throughout both processes of filming and editing I went through a few ups and downs. For filming I decided that I wanted to shoot my video at my friend's house because it is much bigger than mine inside and outside and so that she can help me. When filming we got distracted a few times whether it was just from talking or not knowing which shots we should start doing. Eventually we made up our minds on what we should do but took many shots of each part just in case I preferred one over another. I took many outdoor and indoor shots that had different lightings with multiple segments of the video. I really wanted to match the song with the video and what I was doing. For example, in the beginning of the song I would basically get ready and dress up. You will also see short cuts of me when I'm fully dressed up and as my normal self. This gives basically shows my character's two personalities. Towards the end of the song where the music is more upbeat, I have more shots of me as my character's alter ego. Throughout my filming process outdoors, I stopped a couple of times due to the wind. In addition, I wish I had better outdoor lighting but it was slightly cloudy that day and for the following days, so I slightly edited the appearance in most of the shots. While outside, I tried to incorporate some fun shots with pool just to show how much happier my character was as her alter ego. When editing, I split many shots to add them to different places and added different effects to them. I would constantly switch the clips around and kept overthinking whether I like the places that I put them in. However, at one point I just decided to leave it as is and continue to edit the rest of the video. I then added the music under all the shots and cut it to one minute. Afterwards, I just kept editing the appearance of the clips and finished up the last touches. At this point I just kept watching the video over and over again a few times until I was satisfied with my result.
